COLUMBUS, April 7, 2017 (SNN 24/7) – Portland Trail Blazers inched closer to the 2017 NBA Playoffs with a 105-98 victory over Minnesota Timberwolves at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on Thursday night.
Allen Crabbe was the star of the night for the Trail Blazers as he came off the bench to score 25 points and sank 8 of 10 shots from 3-point range.
Minnesota Timberwolves were looking strong to win the game with a 15-point advantage in the third quarter, but they spilled their chances and failed to maintain their control of the game and let Portland Trail Blazers discontinue a two-game losing streak.
Apart from Allen Crabbe, Damian Lillard also chipped in with 22 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists for Portland Trail Blazers who now have a 1 ½ games advantage over Denver Nuggets in the race for the eighth and the final playoff spot available in the NBA Western Conference.
Minnesota Timberwolves were buoyed by a strong show by Andrew Wiggins who contributed 36 points and eight rebounds whereas Karl-Anthony Town also scored 24 points and 16 boards but their inability to seal the deal.
