The German fourth-seeded player took control of the first quarter-final right at the start by winning the first set 6-4. He again broke his opponent’s serve once in the second set to secure a 6-4 victory, which completed a 6-4 6-4 triumph over the British player. On the other hand, Kyle Edmund, who is currently 12th in the ATP Rankings, will need to redo his strategy and uplift his game to finish among the top eight players for the year-ending ATP Finals at O2 Arena in Singapore.

The second-seeded Serbian player is looking to end the season on top of the ATP Rankings, which is currently led by the Spanish king of clay courts Rafael Nadal. Djokovic is already a part of the year-ending ATP Finals as he is one of the five qualified players.
