KARACHI, March 3, 2019 (SNN247.com) – Nick Kyrgios of Australia reached the twilight of his unbelievable run in the Acapulco Open on Saturday night when he outclassed Alexander Zverev of Germany to win his first Mexican Open title in Acapulco, Mexico.
It was a rollercoaster ride for the Australian tennis ace Nick Kyrgios who notched up victories against the likes of Spain’s Rafael Nadal, Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka, and America’s John Isner on his way to the Acapulco Open final.
At the picturesque The Princess Mundo Imperial in Acapulco, Nick Kyrgios smashed 13 aces to complete a straight sets triumph over Alexander Zverev by 6-3 6-4 in the title match. With this victory, Kyrgios completed the best week of his ATP career to-date which fetched him the ATP 500 Acapulco Open title.
Nick Kyrgios had defeated John Isner by 7-5 5-7 7-6 in the late semifinal the other day. Alexander Zverev, who has 10 ATP Tour titles, had downed Cameron Norrie of the Great Britain in straight sets by 7-6 6-3 in the other semi-final on Friday night.
This is Nick Kyrgios’s fifth ATP title victory and the Aussie tennis ace fully deserved this one as he registered victories against some of the best tennis talent from the world, including the world number two Rafael Nadal who has 17 Grand Slam titles to his name.
