PSL set to outgrow IPL, Pakistan a safe haven for Cricket: Abeysinghe

KARACHI, October 4, 2019 ( – The famous Sri Lankan commentator Roshan Abeysinghe has termed Pakistan Super League is a big brand and praised the quality of cricket played in PSL.

Talking exclusively with SNN, Abeysinghe said, “PSL is a fantastic league. IPL has captured the imagination of the people and PSL is also not far behind. The rivalry & quality of cricket and specially with PSL is now coming to Pakistan with more matches will be played in Pakistan will make it even more successful.”

“It will involve people. Pakistan is great cricket nation. It’s a shame that cricket lovers in Pakistan have to travel to UAE to watch PSL. Pakistanis are cricket loving nation and passionate about cricket,” he said.

On question about security situation in Pakistan, he said “Pakistan is absolutely safe for cricket. I mean it’s not just a test series. More international cricket should return to Pakistan. More international teams should visit Pakistan. This is absolutely safe country. I have interacted with the players and officials and they are very happy & satisfied. They are quite at home. They are enjoying playing cricket here.”

“This is my fourth trip to Pakistan I made my debut foreign tour to Pakistan in 1996 when Sri Lanka won the world cup. I also came here in 2003 as well. I also toured Pakistan in 2017 when T20 was playing and now,” he concluded.
