Khan saves India from embarrassment against Bangladesh

KARACHI, October 16, 2019 ( – In a second round of Group E World Cup 2022 Qualifiers match, Adil Khan scored the all-important equalizer for India against Bangladesh in 88th minute as home team escape embarrassment at a packed Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

It was one of the most disappointing performance by India soccer team against Bangladesh and too on home soil. The draw against Bangladesh has hampered Indian chances very badly to qualify for World Cup 2022.

Saaduddin scored the opening goal of the match in the 42nd minute of the match. The score remained 1-0 in favor of visitors till Adil Khan pulled in back just before the close of the match in the 88th minute.

In other Group E match, host Qatar win the important encounter against Oman as they defeated the visitors by 2-1. Afif scored the opening goal for Qatar in just 2nd minute of the match as score remained 1-0 till half time.

Al Alawi scored the equalizer for Oman in the 63rd minute of the match. Almoez Ali scored the decisive goal for Qatar in 71st minute of the match.   India is now at fourth place on the table with two draws and one defeat in their three matches. The host nation of World Cup 2022 Qatar is leading the second round of Group E with 10 points in four matches followed by Oman and Afghanistan. Bangladesh is at the last spot on the points table with two defeats and one draw in their three World Cup 2022 Qualifying matches.
