Misbah banks on youngsters for good show in Australia tour

KARACHI, October 21, 2019 (SNN247.com) – The chief selector of Pakistan cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq has announced T20 and test squad for the upcoming tour of Australia while relying mostly on youngsters.

The surprise inclusion is deserving left-handed hard-hitting batsman Khushdil Shah who was performing consistently well in the domestic circuit and finally get his opportunity. Couple of another surprise inclusions are fast batteries Musa Khan and Nasim Shah as both were impressive in the domestic season of Quaid-e-Azam trophy as well as National T20 Cup.

Imran Khan Sr., a right-hand fast bowler is making a comeback to test squad while Iftikhar Ahmed is also making a comeback in test squad as expected. Iftikhar also named in T20 squad. While talking to press conference, chief selector and head coach said that both Asif Ali and Fakhar Zaman has been retained in the T20 squad due to their hard-hitting abilities and strike rate. Both players will be tested in Australian conditions as the World T20 2020 will also be hosted by Australia.

Asif Ali, after failing miserably in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, has shown good form during ongoing National T20 Cup. Keeping in mind bad patch of Shadab Khan, Misbah has selected Usman Qadir as well in the T20 squad as he also has very good experience of bowling in Australian conditions and also has decent National T20 Cup apart from his no-ball problems.

Muhammad Rizwan has finally got deserving selection in both T20 and test teams & now its up to him to make use of these opportunities. Abid Ali is also selected in the test squad after his very impressive performance in one day internationals and ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy season. Abid also need to make the most of the opportunity.

Pakistan cricket team will three T20Is against Australia starting from November 3 at Sydney. Second T20I will be played at Canberra on November 5 while last T20I will be played in Perth on November 8. The world number 1 T20I batsman Babar Azam will make his captaincy debut by leading the world number 1 team against Australia.

Pakistan cricket team will also play two test matches against Australia and stylish batsman Azhar Ali, who has prolific English county season this summer and also has impressive start to domestic Quaid-e-Azam trophy, will captain the team. The first test match will be played at Brisbane from November 21 while second test match will be played at Adelaide from November 29.
