LONDON, England, May 30, 2020 (SNN247.com) – The sports activities around the world are slowly coming back to the field as after Bundesliga, now other prominent European Soccer Leagues have also announced their resumption schedule.
English Premier League also announced to resume their season where they left pre COVID-19 break from June 17 as Arsenal will take on Manchester United. Premier League authorities also make it clear that the league will be played on a home and away basis.
“Premier League clubs have agreed to a provisional date of the 2019/20 season resuming on Wednesday 17 June, provided all safety requirements are in place. A proposal has been approved for all 92 remaining matches to be broadcast live in the UK.”
The Spanish soccer league La Liga has also announced to resume the season from June 11 while Italian soccer league Serie A will resume from June 20.
European Leagues Point Table Position
When Premier League was forcefully stopped by COVID-19, Liverpool was leading the points table with 82 points in 29 games while Manchester City was at second place with 57 points in 28 matches. Leicester City was at third spot with 53 points in 29 games. Both Chelsea and Manchester United were fighting for fourth spot with 48 and 45 points respectively in 29 matches.
Juventus was leading the Serie A table with 63 points in 26 matches. Lazio was in second place with 62 points in 26 matches followed by Inter Milan and Atlanta with 54 and 48 points respectively in 25 matches each.
Lionel Messi’s Barcelona was leading the points table in La Liga with 58 points in 27 matches. Arch-rivals Real Madrid was in second place with 56 points in 27 matches. Sevilla was at third spot with 47 points in 27 matches. Real Sociedad and Getafe were battling for fourth spot with 46 points each in the same 27 number of matches.
There is no announcement from the UEFA Champions League yet about the revised schedule of Champions League matches.
