LONDON, England, July 12, 2020 (SNN247.com) – Shannon Gabriel brilliant bowling stunned host England in Southampton as visitors win the first test by four wickets.

The host missed their regular skipper Joe Root badly as they were bundled out for only 204 with stand-in skipper Ben Stokes scored 43 runs, the highest in first innings. England lost their last seven wickets for just 64 runs in the second innings that provided a brilliant chance to visitors to take lead in 3-match test series.
Shannon Gabriel took 5/75 runs Chase and Joseph took two wickets each. Chasing 200 runs to win Southampton test, Archer and Wood provided important early breakthroughs as visitors were struggling at 27/3. Roston Chase (37) and Blackwood (95) added 73 runs for the fourth wicket.
Blackwood was unlucky to miss deserving century. West Indies achieved the target for the loss of six wickets with their skipper Jason Holder was at the crease to enjoy the moment.
Shannon Gabriel was declared Man of the Match. The second test will start on 16 July at Manchester. Joe Root will join the England squad for the second test.
